ReLEAD – Code of Conduct
ReLEAD is an online training programme that brings together participants from diverse professional, cultural, and national backgrounds to strengthen civic skills, responsibleleadership, and constructive engagement at work and in society.
This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from all participants in both self-paced learning and live online group workshops.
Respect and inclusion
Participants are expected to treat others with respect, fairness, and professionalism. Diversity of perspectives and experiences is valued, and constructive disagreement is welcome. Discriminatory, harassing, or offensive language or behaviour will not be tolerated.
Constructive participation
Participants should engage in good faith, listen actively, and contribute in a way that supports a balanced and productive learning environment. During live workshops, participants are expected to allow space for others and avoid disruptive behaviour. Psychological safety ReLEAD may involve discussion of complex or sensitive topics. Participants are encouraged to engage with openness and empathy, respect personal boundaries, and avoid personal attacks or inflammatory statements. Facilitators may intervene to maintain a safe learning environment.
Confidentiality
Personal experiences and opinions shared during live workshops should be treated as confidential and not shared outside the group without consent. Recording, screenshots, or distribution of programme content is not permitted unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Online etiquette
Participants are expected to join live sessions on time, use respectful language, manage
microphones and background noise, and follow basic online meeting etiquette. Camera
use should respect both programme guidance and individual comfort.
Self-paced learning
When engaging with self-paced units or online discussions, participants should complete
activities honestly and use interactive features respectfully and in line with this Code of
Conduct.
Breaches and reporting
THE CIVICS reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to breaches of this
Code of Conduct, including removal from sessions or the programme in serious or
repeated cases. Participants are encouraged to report concerns confidentially to the
programme organisers.

By participating in ReLEAD, participants acknowledge and agree to this Code of Conduct.
